Military Moms Breastfeeding In Uniform Create Controversy

Two smiling healthy women feeding their beautiful healthy babies makes me smile. Their uniforms make my smile wider. Sometimes I see a man or woman in uniform embracing a child with such joy and intensity that I look away as I smlie, so as not to intrude on their public moment of intimacy. I don’t know anything about being in the military or being in combat but I hope that whenever men and women in uniform have a mental image of a comrade holding a child in their arms, that image strengthens their resolve to get everyone back home safely. Powerful mental images can be used to advantage. May breastfeeding women in uniform be one of them!

Mexican Officials Working To Lure U.S. Tourists To Baja

Less than 24 hours ago I was the victim of a $200 shakedown by two Mexican police officers on the streets of Tecate, Mexico. I am a USA citizen and had been in Ensenada for a couple of weeks on vacation. On my way to the border crossing yesterday I was pulled over on trumped up traffic charges. One uniformed policeman talked to me while his partner waited in the police vehicle. I was told I would have to go to the police station, wait "probably a few hours", go before a judge, pay a fine of probably 2,000 pesos. Did I have 2,00 pesos? He instructed me on how to get to the police station, escorted me there and, after I had parked my car, offered to "take care of it himself". I was pretty shaken up so it took me a while but I finally got the picture. And he got my $200. We've decided not to invite our friend to join us in Ensenada. My mother has decided not to renew her passport. She'll see the grandkids when we get home.
