This is great news for all San Diegans - We The People. I've long wondered if the high levels of apathy among Americans in local government is due to the fact they believe they have little control over their elected officials.
I also agree with Donna and believe more information in the hands of the people will allow many more citizens to make more intelligent contributions in the process. It just makes sense that local government should use every asset at its disposal - including it's own citizenry.
We all agree government needs to improve. Deliberately allowing citizens access to data, giving them opportunities to give feedback and taking obvious next-steps is how government should work.
Citizens are not a necessary evil - they are the reason we need government - to be sure every American (and guest) is treated equally and fairly.
Closed government is so early-1960's.
