The fact remains that Escondido seems to have made a lot of money from this program at the expense of all taxpayers. I don't appreciate my hard-earned money being used to line the pockets of law makers and city officials. The entire program is not about public safety--it's about making money. No wonder city council receives a nice monthly allotment for their car payments and new cell phones--they need to return the profits or give up the grants. Escondido could use the profits to pay for this program, but instead they take the profits, put the money in their pockets, and take, take, take from the taxpayers.
Why am I surprised?
