Has any consideration been given to sliding scale tuition based on ability to pay based on CA tax returns? Many well-to-do families, even ones whose children attended private secondary schools, pay the same tuition as students from families that are economically struggling. Wouldn't this be a better approach to funding than undermining the intent and quality of what was once the best state higher educational system in the US?
