I am an advocate for the safe use of medical marijuana. The city of San Diego should review these recommendations as soon as possible and stop going after dispensaries. It is only a waste of the city's dwindling resources (remember we have a record budget deficit coming up!) and time. Instead of looking at cooperatives and collectives as detrimental to our community, we should look at the positive. Medicinal marijuana is a much safer way to manage pain without the possibility of addiction or overdose (like with prescription opiates). We should also encourage a tax on these business, like the city of Oakland. One dispensary is estimating that with the new tax law, they will pay approximately $350,000 in the new year. Let's integrate these cooperatives/collectives as positive community forces!!
