Poway Considers Effects Of Turning Off Red Light Cameras

A study done during just three months ( 3 before 3 after) and with 8 accidents doesn't prove anything.

Review: 'A Single Shot'

Haven't seen the movie, but what I heard about it sounds a lot like the great argentinian movie "El aura". Is this an american remake of the argentinian or just an homenage to it?

U-T San Diego Political Ads Don't Add Up

Great information, but completely useless if nobody is going to take to court.
Who is going to do it?

Filner Edges DeMaio In San Diego Mayor's Race

My biggest disappointment from this election is that now we are not going to know the price: What did DeMaio promise Jerry Sanders for his endorsement?

We kind of know what Manchester was going to get (zeros up or down in millions doens´t really mean anything for a normal person), we know the bridge that Mr. Jacobs was getting while he was voting with one hand covering his nose. But what was Jerry Sanders getting out of this? A statue… Sander´s Stadium…. or his name in a building own by Manchester and lease with the money of all of us taxpayers?

We probably won´t know. I am disappointed but relieved.

New City Hall On Manchester's Waterfront Could Gain Traction

If they are doing all this before the elections, it is scary to think what they could do if they get elected.

Politicians used to do things for the people, but according to the new definitions, corporations are people too.

It is sad to see how the name of an honest person as Irwin Mark Jacobs, the Qualcomm founder, could be associated from now on to somebody so opposite of his Philanthropical convictions.

What a shame that a bridge is more important than integrity. And let’s hope Jacobs legacy won’t be stained with scandal and corruption.

There is still time to stop endorsing this immorality.

'Latino' Or 'Hispanic': What's In A Name?

The Associated Press Stylebook is wrong. A Hispanic is somebody from or whose ancestors were from the region of Hispania (Spain and Portugal). So, therefore, Brazilians are Hispanics. And Latinos would be people with Latin background (French, Italian, Mexicans, etc...) So, people from Guayana or Haiti would be considered Latin but not Hispanic. That's what It means but for whatever reason, people don't want to be associated with something they considered a lower standard.

Another thing that beats me is why the race used by Immigration authorities consider Arab as Whites in the same group as Anglo or Northern European.

Why do we need those names? I don't know.
