Finally, I've heard rumors of this change for years and I am so glad to see it finally put into place. Now, no longer will I be forced to listen to the local right wing AM radio stations to glean a bit of whats happening out there in the world. I am disappointed that some of the programming will be "fluff" like Being or call-in shows like World Have Your Say. If I wanted call in shows I would listen to the aforementioned AM crap stations. Having the BBC as the primary overnight source is the best idea yet. It can be so frustrating to find actual news (not of the FOX/CNN tripe that dominates our nation). I do wish that some of the better shows out there in public radio were featured. I would much rather hear Living on Earth, Whatd' Ya Know, Planet Money, or Radiolab than some of these "lite" shows like Q or Being (seriously a bad call with this one). And there is the wasted 4 hours every weekend spent on that monstrosity of boredom Prairie Home Companion, but all-in-all KPBS is showing its ability to respond to the wants and needs of its supporters and I am happy to be in that group. Please stick to your guns on this one. Thanks!
