After 30 years we dropped this rag. Putting up with the Copley's politics was tolerable, you knew where they stood but they didn't beat you over the head. we also knew "Bowtie" Bob Kiddle (sp?) would spew the RNC talking points BUT Manchester has taken the "Onion" to new lows of partisanship. He obviously doesn't need my subscription. So now we read the LA Times, a REAL 'paper, and get the local news from KPBS. And we do miss Gloria.
Like Len and SDListener99 we, too, have dropped the "Onion" after 30 years. Yes, it was the over the top anti-Obama smear that was what pushed us but the quality and quantity of the news has become pathetic. So now I read the LA paper for news and listen to KPBS.
The Red Wine Headache is very common but unstudied phenomenon. There seems to be a PR stigma preventing serious study. From a Google search I came across a decent essay reviewing the minimal research. It clarifies the sulphites allergy myth (usually self diagnosed) and points to the many compounds that occur in red wine, such as histamines, serotonin, and prostaglandins. I recommend reading it:
