Restored Hotel Gives Lifeline To Mentally Disabled Adults At Risk Of Homelessness

Boy that's one great looking building! I wish they'd restore more buildings like this rather than demo them.

Filner Has New Plans For Plaza de Panama

TD, Filner's plan does not include slapping on a freeway off ramp to the Cabrillo Bridge, digging a deep hole for a parking structure in the center of the park, turning Alcazar Garden into valet parking, and turning the plaza into business park, so NO, Filner's plan does not violate the same code.

Filner Has New Plans For Plaza de Panama

Yes, unlike the Jacobs' posse which includes the San Diego City Council, Mayor Filner will listen to the community!

WAY TO GO, SOHO! KPBS IS GREAT AT FUNDRAISING FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING, PERHAPS THEY CAN HAVE A TELETHON TO RAISE MONEY!! WE DON'T NEED JACOB'S FILTHY MONEY! LET THE PEOPLE OF SAN DIEGO, AND THE WORLD PAY FOR IT BY DONATIONS!

Roundtable: Balboa Park, Bridgepoint, Backcountry Wildlife Killings

CHANGE IS OK, BUT IT SHOULD BE THE RIGHT CHANGE. THERE WERE MANY ALTERNATIVES THAT COST LESS AND DIDN'T DAMAGE THE PARK AS THE JACOBS' PLAN DOES. WE'RE PASSIONATE BECAUSE THE JACOBS PLAN IS JUST PLAIN UGLY. WERE PASSIONATE BECAUSE 'THE CITY', SANDERS, & JACOBS' TEAM IGNORED THE PUBLIC IN THE PROCESS.

I DON'T THINK THESE TWO GUESTS KNEW MUCH ABOUT THE OPPOSITION.

State Official Says Balboa Park Could Lose Historic Designation

I think if Jacobs it's itchin' to blow a wad of dough for Balboa Park and the Plaza De Panama, he should donate it to the Committee of One Hundred and rebuild the Science & Education Building!

Balboa Park Parking Plan Draws Fire

NO BYPASS & NO PARKING STRUCTURE IN THE PARK. PARKING OUTSIDE THE PARK. CLOSE CABRILLO BRIDGE TO ALL CAR TRAFFIC.

RESTORE BALBOA PARK AS CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN AS POSSIBLE.

WHAT ABOUT ALL THE WEIGHT AND WEAR OF ALL THE EXTRA TRAFFIC A PARKING STRUCTURE WILL ATTRACT ON CABRILLO BRIDGE? I DON'T THINK THE BRIDGE WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR THIS KIND OF TRAFFIC.

DRAWING MORE CARS ON CABRILLO BRIDGE IS NOT PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY. THE RIGHT SIDE WON'T ALLOW FOR PEDESTRIANS TO CROSS THROUGH THE MAIN ENTRANCE WITHOUT DEALING WITH THE CARS MAKING THE RIGHT TURN TO THE BYPASS. ESPECIALLY DURING SOME MAJOR EVENT IN THE PARK. THE CONGESTION RIGHT THERE AT THE ENTRANCE IS GOING TO BE VERY DANGEROUS.

I SAY MOST OF THE PARKING/PARKING STRUCTURES SHOULD BE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE PARK, I THINK... ALONG PARK BLVD.

I SAY, NO MORE CEMENT IN THE PARK! MORE NATURE!

THE "BACKSIDES OF THE BUILDINGS NOT DESIGNED FOR PRESENTATION" ... THINK IT'S JUST A MATTER OF THESE AREAS NOT BEING MAINTAINED OVER THE YEARS. AS BRUCE COONS SAID, THESE AREAS CAN BE RECOVERED, AND THE LOOKS OF THESE OVERGROWN AREAS RESTORED (AND CHEAPER TO DO SO)...

"It's like taking the most beautiful woman in San Diego and putting a concrete veil up to [her] eyeballs!!" —LOL
