An interesting broadcast and another piece of pop journalism for pop culture. The idea of the psycho or sociopath is some of the great cultural mythology of modern times. Of course there is no such thing as a human being without conscious or lacking a sense of morality since these are categories are part of the culture of make believe. Psychology is folk knowledge and the so-called sociopath is just the modern equivalent to the boogie man. The idea that there is some special classes of human being is quite ridiculous in the light of civilization, radical capitalism, and consumerism, which regularly kills, oppresses, and destroys life without any regard for the long term consequences and the well-being of the future. So perhaps if there is such a thing as sociopaths we should not apply it to the imaginary personality of an individual and instead apply to the entirety of industrial civilization.
