In other states, such as Michigan, the high cost of the death penalty has been a factor in rejecting the death penalty. Also, contrary to the popular view, an execution often does not bring closure to the victim's families. The county and state tax dollars can be better spent on services for families of victims. It's time to let the voters decide.
