Expert Offers Winter Gardening Tips

hi Nan.
I guess the description of camelias sounded a little vaguely middle aged. leaves are dull, turn yellow and sparse (i.e. fewer new leaves than old). Buds form but last year, they did not bloom much; about 50% of them dessicated and dropped off. I have tried an iron rich camelia food this fall, perhaps not the right time of year.

What is the best method to resuscitate camellias which have lost their luster now that buds are setting in? When is the best time to fertilize relative to their bloom cycle?

Firing Juan

Thanks Tom- this will be an interesting topic for employment law classes, that is for sure.

Firing Juan

Interesting discussion- question for you Tom. As I understand it, on FOX, opinion IS news (and I am not commenting on whether that is good or bad, just different from NPR and most broadcast news). I imaging that during those unfortunately 8 minutes, Juan was employed by FOX and acting in a manner consistent with FOX news practices. Thus, is it reasonable for NPR's expectations to prevail when Juan was acting in a FOX-appropriate manner while employed by FOX ?

How Will School District Cut $141 Million Deficit?

Thanks to the guests for highlighting that teacher salaries are low in comparison with their important careers. Some tax aversive parents seem to equate teaching with minimum wage babysitting and it reflects our culture's general lack of respect for education. This attitude will hurt us in the global economy in the long run; a risk politicians are willing to take for short term anti-tax votes.
