Filner Edges DeMaio In San Diego Mayor's Race

I'll be relieved once DeMaio concedes. I am sooo ready for a new way of doing business in San Diego--one not run by developers or the devil himself: Manchester. And think of all that money the Koch brothers wasted on this election (and Romney's). I'm ready for a legitimate 3rd party so we will be forced to build coalitions and not just have a two-party system. Maybe by 2020?

University Cuts Could Wound San Diego Economy

No sh*t, shiloh. And it just wouldn't hurt world-class faculty here at UCSD, but it would hurt the STAFF who get laid off, including those who are at the bottom of the heap. World-class faculty can go find jobs at other universities, and while it might "hurt" UCSD in the short term, laying off staff who make less than what? $100,000, $50,000? would also cause a ripple effect in this community. Please OPEN your eyes.

KPBS Strengthens News Service

I am one of your disappointed listeners hearing of this change. News 24/7 is not good for ones soul. I always looked forward to turning on my radio when I went to bed to listen to classical music. I also don't have a computer in my bedrooom and even if I did I wouldn't turn it on to stream any classical music during the night.

I agree with another person's comment that you are putting a spin on this change. It's not for the good of your listening community. Why can't you be honest about why you're screwing with your schedule. And I agree with another person's comment: Rick Steves puts me to sleep! There is so much good programming out there that you don't take advantage of--maybe it is a funding problem, but if it is, and we're such a BIG city, then get some money.

I contributed for this year (I've been a regular contributer), but I think that will be the last time. Sorry to see you make these changes. They suck. Get some decent, enlightening programming. BBC for an hour was great. BBC for any longer is not.
