They really aught to put the put the border patrol in the jail cells, and have the immigrants run the jails.

Medical Tourism Booming In Baja California

The regulations and constraints that government puts on the medical industry here in the States, certainly will not be solved by the Obama care. And it sounds like the author of this news article has very high hopes for the future.

San Diego Businesses Protest City Council's Increase Of 'Jobs Tax'

If you have a sneaking suspicion that subsidized housing at the expense of everyone else is 'bad', then you had better go with your gut feeling. You could be right after all. :)

Third Person In Custody In Connection To Marine Wife Murder

I would like to know why the story strongly emphasizes the fact that she is a marine wife.
I never hear about victims of homicide that are spouses of engineers, scientists, artists, philosophers, entrepreneurs, and other creative people in society.
Am I missing something here?

San Diego Pump Price Rising, Again

Somehow this doesn't fit the supply/demand model. There must be something else in the works here, like regulations, taxes, protection rackets, the US military destroying the production factors, etc.

It's time to take a look at the real source of the problem here: government.

ACLU Demands Investigation Of Alleged Customs And Border Protection Abuses

"alleged" abuse? Here's a rule of thumb: If it's a government agent with a gun and the power to abuse and terrorize people while UNDER protection of their labor unions, then rest assured: IT'S more than just an allegation: It happened.

New NPR Chief Weighs In On Public Media's Future

I think it would be interesting to have some students run the show. After all, it IS a college, right?
And some of the staff have been their way too long, like Gloria Penner. This organization reminds me of a bureaucracy. Wait! Isn't that what KPBS is?

Creating Bike Safety In A City Built For Cars

Bikes should have the option of riding on the sidewalk. It's a lot safer for them, so long as they are careful with the pedestrians.
I ride an electric bike every day and I have had some close calls.
You can ask the city to "make changes" as you hear all the time when citizens beg government to come to their rescue, but have no specific ideas on what to do but raise taxes.

Somalis In City Heights Lead Fight Against Liquor License

Clearly the liquor licensing issue is a competition protection racket brought about by the State of California (and all other govenments involved in licensing)

The state is the real criminal here: ABC gives permission after they have been fed enough money and after begging permission to sell liquor. That process has nothing to do with its stated purpose but to grow the state and justify hiring fat bureaucratic government slobs who make it a full time business of sending in harry 20 year-old to purchase beer, for the purpose of shaking down the business with a 2500 dollar fine.
Screw the government and shame on those who support the racket.
People should be free to sell whatever they want, and buy whatever they want, so long as they don't impose on anyone on a non-voluntary basis.
