Mr./Ms. Duck_SD: Mr. Filner's lack of communication isn't limited to Mr. Goldsmith, he has spurned the entire city council. I respectfully suggest that Mr. Filner talk to San Diego's leaders before he acts; even Republicans and those whose policies he disagrees with. He should work towards consensus, even if he can't achieve it. He should act respectfully. As it stands, he is dictating and getting nothing done.
The Mayor's heart may be in the right place, but it's obvious he doesn't know how to work with people. Any person, particularly a person in authority, doesn't like to be bossed around. It is amazing that Filner doesn't get it. Why did he think he could walk in on the first day and dictate?
As a consumer of local news, I am very disappointed that my options for unbiased news has been further reduced. U-T San Diego publisher Doug Manchester relentlessly has pushed his uber-conservative views and pro-development agenda onto his unsuspecting readers since he purchased the paper in late 2011. I fear that the readers of the North County Times will be his next victims. Fortunately, we still have KPBS.org
