New Balboa Park Centennial Plans To Be Issued Friday

"collapsed after a citizen's group failed"

Calling BPCI a "citizens group" is mis-representation of the highest sort.
This type of shoddy reporting continues on KPBS.

Soledad Cross Battle Might Be Heading To Supreme Court

"Erected in 1954, the memorial is the nation's oldest Korean War Veterans Memorial..."

Is this directly from the war memorial group PR pamphlet?

Truth is it was called the Easter Cross when first erected in 1954 and didn't become a "war memorial" until AFTER the first suit was brought in 1989.

We expect better reporting from PBS.

Art In An Unlikely Place: An Ocean Beach Public Bathroom

Ms. Carone:
"Some of the streets in OB are named after authors and philosophers."
Actually, those streets are in Point Loma, over the hill from OB. Closest Ocean Beach street names come are Froude (mathematician) and Guizot (historian) neither of whom are quoted in the comfort station artwork.

Accuracy is the soul of news reporting.

Fireworks Company Blames Computer Glitch For Fourth Of July Bayfront Bust

Tom Fudge:
"the mishap wasn't due to human error or firework technology, but to a corrupt computer file."
Only humans can be corrupt; the file was corrupted. Little things often mean alot :-)
