Textbooks are a “broken market” item. They are overpriced by publishers and become obsolete over the years. Save money and resources. Provide up-to-date information to students through web-based curriculum. Donate a fraction of the money to Wikipedia. Teach students that not everything published are truths and multiple answers may exist for any given problem.
We need a law which legalizes, taxes, and allows employers to discriminate against ANY recreational drug. Laws are already on the books preventing impairment during certain activities such as driving and making oaths or affirmations. The legalization of drugs will create additional revenue for the government and have the added benefit of destroying drug cartels, as seen during the end of prohibition in 1933. Let employers enforce anti-drug programs. Citizens will be forced to curtail or abstain from recreational drug use knowing employers can legally discriminate against use of certain drugs. This includes alcohol and tobacco. For example: Industries such as the military and airlines may include the recreational use of tobacco as a disqualifying event; whereas, the use of marijuana may be perfectly acceptable to an employer staffing a tattoo parlor or coffee shop.
