DeMaio Warns Stations To Stop Running Negative Ad

Is this how DeMaio is going to handle difficult situations as Mayor? Whine and pout and lawyer up against anyone he doesn't agree with? Oh, poor baby. Poor little crybaby. No thanks, I already voted and the bubble in front of Carl DeMaio's name was not filled in. With all the problems at city hall the last thing we need is a big cry baby taking over.

Military Moms Breastfeeding In Uniform Create Controversy

I can tell through several things in the last four posts that argue_honestly, jay_mee, and vintage_user are the same person. One spammer who is too immature to understand breastfeeding.

KPBS Hosts Mayoral Debate

Filner and Fletcher had the strongest performances.

Bonnie needs to drop out, she seemed the weakest with no real vision or coherent vision.

DeMaio, in typical snake oil salesman form, appeared polished and coherent, but when one analyzes his policies one is struck with a spine-chilling terror over just how dangerous he is.

Fletcher referred to DeMaio as wanting San Diego to become the "Wisconsin of the West" and boy did he hit the nail on the head. Dirty Carl is a carbon copy of Scott Walker, two extremists, two anti-union fanatics who have no problem giving their private special interests favors (like DeMaio's convention center handout of public money to the hotel industry).

Wisconsin residents are now having to recall their fanatic nut job. Let's not let it get that far in San Diego by electing crazy DeMaio. Let's stop Dirty Carl before he is able to do huge damage and ruin our city.

Arizona Lawmakers Consider Funding Armed, Volunteer Militia

Do these people go through background checks? What is in place to prevent racists from enrolling and then being allowed to carry guns to the border? Crazy people? It just seems like a recipe for disaster. I looked at the posting history of the posters above who said they would volunteer, and they are people with comments that border on racism/have a clear disdain for Latinos. This is just an excuse to give angry racists a weapon and let them attack and shoot immigrants.

A Deadline For Bills: What Made It, What Didn't

AB 625 is a bill that would have modified California's sex offender system to a tiered system that designates how long people must register as sex offenders.
Every state in the country has a system like this except California, Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina.

California has over 92,000 registered sex offenders and makes every one of them register for life, instead of the system most states have that less serious offenses register for 10 years, other 20, and the most dangerous for life.

Law enforcement and the sex offender board favored this bill because it would have allowed money and resources to concentrate on the most serious child molesters and rapists, while Romeo and Juliet crimes would not require lifetime registration.

It's interesting that liar Nathan Fletcher, the Assemblyman who exploited the Chelsea King murder for political gain voted against this bill today. While putting together his touted "Chelsea's Law" Nathan Fletcher claimed he favored reasonable legislation that focused on the most serious offenders. Today, Nathan Fletcher proved he was lying then, and proved he does not favor reasonable sex offender laws. Nathan Flethcer, like many others in Sacramento favor their own political hide instead of reasonable and fair laws.

The bill didn't passmthemassembly, so California's draconian sex offender laws will remain in small company with Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Opening Statements Set In Camp Pendleton Marine's War Crime Trial

Typical example of the military trying to shield a criminal.
This article is full of many "circumstances" such as waiting 6 years and refusing a civilian jury. Of course the military papers these circumstances over with their reasoning, but this is all planned and anyone who saysnotherwise is naive. The military has had plans for what will happen to their murderer allmalong. All an attempt to get this murderer off.

Kissing Sailor Scheduled To Depart

@acsalinas this is public art, art that all citizens have to view. There is art that appeals to me because it has special significance to my life, but that doesn't mean it has to be forced on display in public forever. Again, like nonayerbsns, you have to make an argument based on what it supposedly symbolizes and not based on how it looks because it looks hideous. If it's that important for military people then move it to a base or put it in a military museum.

Kissing Sailor Scheduled To Depart

@nonayerbsns, out of all the posts on here, yours make the best case for getting rid of this statue. Public art is about aesthetics, and because this statue has none you are furiously trying in vain to come up with all kinds of excuses to keep it. Bottom line is it's not appealing to most people, as someone else said it looks like a giant cartoon, so you are trying to come up with stupid excuses to bully people into accepting it. News for you, you can't bully people into accepting art. It either works or it doesn't, and this statue doesn't work.
