A Third Of Vets Say Iraq And Afghan Wars A Waste

I'm a vet too, and I was on active duty just before this all began and was certain that this would be the eventual conclusion - that these wars would be thought of by those not in complete denial as a waste of time, life, and American taxpayer's money.

What we could have done after 9-11 is capture and kill as many Taliban as possible, Osama should have never gotten away. Then leave only a small footprint to deal with any aftermath, NOT nation build, and certainly not invade Iraq that had NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to do with 9-11.

Saudi Arabia provided 11 of the 19 hijackers that attacked us on 9-11, and many experts on the subject are convinced that much of the money to support those attacks came from Saudi Arabia - not Iraq. Did we invade Saudi Arabia?

When Carter was president he made it clear that the US needed to wean its self off oil because that region is so volatile, he even put solar panels on the White House. How much has to happen for people to wake up to the idea that we can't continue thinking that oil is our future? We are in the position we are today because of the bone headed thinking of decades past.

War is not the solution to our problems, it is the problem, and we disgrace ourselves by saying "Hey, we need oil, and so since we have a huge military we'll just take it!" This kind of thinking is why in part we are so hated by many of countries in the world. We used to be respected and loved in most of the world, but today what we are doing is creating a more divisive world, further threatening our security, and ensuring that generations to come we see us as world bullies who say we are doing something for one reason, but in actuality are simply doing it because our leaders are corrupt and too many of our people blinded by their patriotism.
Any Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman should follow lawful orders, but they can certainly vote and have an opinion that is different from their elected officials - these days to differ from them is not only their right, but it would be exceptionally Patriotic and Honorable in my opinion.

Occupy Wall Street Protests Spread To San Diego

It will be interesting to see where these protests take us; it's actually amazing to me that this didn't begin years ago. There's also a lot of irony in the fact that many Americans who are hurt the most by the policies and practices that have gotten us into this mess, tend to lean toward political ideas and party movements that reinforce the worst practices in capitalism and in government. I’m glad to see these protests, but my guess is that they are going to run up against a huge wall of denial and ignorance by most Americans. They will see any protest against Wall Street as a protest against Capitalism in general, and the Fox News outlets will do everything within their power to paint the protesters as lazy, ungrateful, and misguided youth.

Be prepared for it to get dirty people, the powers that be are well entrenched, colossal, and ruthless.

Prominent US-Born Al-Qaida Cleric Killed In Yemen

Great! Another one bites the dust and it doesn’t bother me in the least that he wasn’t captured and put on trial. I certainly have my disappointments with president Obama, but at least on his watch two of most notorious terrorist scoundrels that ever lived (Osama and al-Awlaki) have been taken out.

While our Seal team did a superb job in getting Osama, it seems to me this is the most effective and efficient means to deal with these animals and it doesn't put our troops at risk. Pull the large and costly footprint of the troops out and instead leave a small military base and force there that can launch these things around the clock. When these terrorists realize that there will be no where they can run, no where they can hide, and at no hour can they rest assured that one of these isn’t humming overhead, then we’ll be hearing a lot less from them.

Bass Populations Collapsing Off Our Coast, Scripps Says

Meanwhile world population explodes to nearly 7 billion. How will we feed and clothe all these people? Let's just keep promoting our current policies, I'm sure god will find a way to fix it all for us.

End Of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' Arrives With Little Fanfare

This was way over due. Try to imagine how difficult it would be not to bring up something like this at work. Eventually, through casual conversation, through invitations to various events people are going to wonder why you never have a date or why you don't talk about your girl, or guy. Right? Elementary dear Watson.

Mission Accomplished!

Suspicion From 9/11 Tragedy Remains For San Diego Muslims

The Quran has a lot of hate speech in it toward non-Muslims; therefore one should logically conclude that a person that claims to be a Muslim must believe this hate speech is justified. Would you join an organization that essentially believes in a 13th century viewpoint of how the world should be? A world in which unless you're a member, you're little more than fodder for hell?

And being that you're little more than fodder for hell what does a Muslim owe you? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. They don't owe you the truth of their true intent, they don't owe it to you to use your language or accept your social norms or customs. So if you have a trust issue with them, you're completely and rationally justified.

9/11 In Comics

This was a great story and great material, nothing trivial at all about 9-11 or a comic portrayal of it. I can see why some who call themselves American however might not want a reminder about what was the root cause for what happened that day. The elephant in the room just won't go away though. Good work Beth!

Arrests Along Border Fewest In 40 Years

This really saddens me, just think of all the children of illegal aliens that won't be getting your tax dollars now for medical care and a college education. I hope Governor Brown can do something about this quick. If this keeps up, I'm moving to Arizona where the border is much more porous.

Latino Family Reflects On Conversion To Islam

The family should have had no concerns over his conversion to Islam...

"O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust." Qur’an 5:51

...because words have no meaning here in La La Land. Let's all just hug and pretend otherwise.

SDSU Expands Course List To Offer Secular Studies

The Bible teaches man not to question - "Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5

And thus this is why so much ignorance abounds, why science, rational and logical thought is attacked by religion, progress is slowed, and our world literally hangs in the balance. Religious people are simply not amenable to facts - if the facts don't fit the frame they throw out the facts.

If you are "Not of this World" then please go back to the world you think you came from so the rest of us can fix this one before it's too late, please.
