The African-American Railroad Experience

I wonder if the professor ever heard or read of an African-American Harvey Girl? There's always the possibility that someone "passed" for white and served this glamorized function while keeping her racial identity secret. Still, I wonder if Black women made it into railroading and it's offshoots out West when railroads were king?

Legal Update: Lawsuits Over Language

Has Mr. Eaton ever considered investigating the increased incidence of guardian/conservator abuse both nationally and in San Diego as our population ages? Such abuse is where health care meets the judiciary and the patient's interests get talked about but eliminated at the same time. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel spoke eloquently to Congress in 2008 about the need to correct this destructive relationship. But, conservator/guardian abuse has gone missing from the more recent health care reform debate.

Care to explore why? And, more specifically, how the reform of this national disgrace should be re-addressed since the President signed the new measures into law?
