Emergency Physicians Issue Guidelines About When To Visit An ER

Yes ER physician groups can offer guidelines for ER care but someone who reads the English language, understands it, and gives a hoot about the greater good has to actually look at them.
People who enjoy free medical "insurance" have no responsibility, no co-pay, never see a bill so don't really have a stake.

SD Hospitals Slashing ER Wait Times

I went to the Chula Vista ER last week, I had chest pain. I had to sit in a noisy dirty hall, the Doctor and Nurse asked me personal questions in full view of the other people in the hall. I was moved to an extremely uncomfortable recliner thing crammed into a small impersonal space, was asked to bare my chest for an EKG with only a tacky thin drape between me and the man in the next chair. The nurses looked harried, were rushing about, no one was smiling. Everyone who treated me was VERY nice but the circumstances in which they are asked to do the wonderful things they do was appalling. It was dirty, noisy, crowded.
I own a small business. I would not impose these conditions on my employees. I think this organization needs to understand that if you make working conditions at the very least tolerable, for your employees they will work better, more efficiently, and the customer will come out the better for it.
If I ever need ER care again I will take the time to drive to Green or La Jolla.
