Ex-Filner Chief of Staff: 'I Believe Her'

Good to hear, Peking Duck.

So, you'll sign the recall petition, now??

You and I are both looking forward to having an "effective" progressive liberal leader, which Filner is not.

Filner Recall Organizers Pallamary, Corbin Will Combine Efforts

As the recall begins to take traction, I would hope that some folks interested in running for Mayor, would do so. Otherwise, Peking Duck makes a good point. Why have a recall, if the next guy is going to be an asshole, too?

I don't, however, agree that the next mayor is going to be a republican. Unless Filner manages to stay in for a while... which, will look bad for the democrats. I think he's is doing the party serious harm.

I just changed my mind - how fast can we get rid of this jerk???

Filner's Attorney: City Failed To Provide Mayor With Sexual Harassment Training

Didn't Filner fight for woman's rights in his Congress days? And didn't they include strengthening of laws on sexual harassment? He must know a little something, no? To not know that it was wrong? Well, he did admit to that it is wrong, already. I guess he just sort of snapped to it.

Filner's Chief Of Staff: City Running At 'Highest Level Of Integrity'

Not sure what the "correct remedy" will be, now that everyone realizes that Filner is NOT going to resign, no matter what. The legal battle will drag on for a year or two. It's better to get to the bottom of things now! Will Filner avoid the deposition?

Rehab without resignation makes no sense, but then again, when has our hostile mayor ever made any sense?

City Of San Diego's Recall Process May Be Unconstitutional

I love how Todd asked Filner to resign... I don't know, a least a dozen times?, in this interview. He can ask him a zillion times.... he's not going.

ManilaMesa is on to something. I think, eventually, Filner will have to come out from hiding. He should be booed at every chance, by everyone.

Efforts To Recall Mayor Filner Underway

According to an article in today's Union Tribune, Stamp Corbin has no source for funding the recall. Worse yet, a highly credible person in the LBGT community has come forward as a witness that Stamp is deliberately trying to thwart a real recall effort. We'll know more tomorrow, but it does appear that Stamp Corbin will be adding a bit of shame to the LBGT community, which I am also a member of.

DNC Leader Urges Filner To Resign

CaliforniaDefender, you got it right on the money. Problem is that he is not going to resign under any circumstances. We're stuck with him for a while. I'm guessing, it will go to court (with the recall underway, I hope)... and, after he's done trying to discredit his accuser(s), he'll be convicted. He'll offer more apologies... but, still not resign, claiming he's getting better.

Filner is one horrible leader and EVERY Democrat and/or liberal should be pissed as hell for what he is doing to the city AND the Democratic party.

The recall won't be cheap. Is there really any other way?

Filner Announces He Will Enter Counseling Clinic; Says Nothing Of Resigning

I've got a question for Filner. If he is found guilty of any form of sexual harassment, would he resign?

I bet he wouldn't. More likely, just more apologies.

San Diego Democrats Call For Filner To Resign

As I understand it, if Filner is convicted of sexual harassment, misdemeanor of stronger, he still can not be removed. So, if this does go to court, and he doesn't like the verdict, he can still decide to just dole out more apologies and stay on office.

Bottom line, is I would like to meet the remaining 6 democrats that are still backing Filner. Do they understand that he is a total failure and that his agenda is shot to hell? Do they understand that Filner is doing considerable harm to future Democrats that deserve a chance to carry fwd a liberal agenda? I wish this were just an opinion, but we are all witnessing what a terrible person he is. For god sake, he just put a republican in charge. Walt Ekard has such a stellar reputation, this should further damage the Democratic agenda. Why would any democrat want to see Filner stay??

Former Filner Intern: Mayor's Staff Witnessed Alleged Harassment

I couldn't agree more with IIK and HarryStreet! I am a progressive liberal and I had to vote for DeMaio, because I found Filner not to be fit for Mayor. I met Filner twice, one was his own fundraiser. I felt strongly then, as I do now, his behavior makes him unqualified to run our city. It's not just his behavior with women, but towards nearly everyone. He is obviously doing damage to our city, but also, he doing damage to the Democratic Party. Guys like Jess Dufree should be very ashamed of advancing him forward. His failure to resign is going to be a huge mark on the Democratic Party and there is sure to be a decline of registered Democrats. Every liberal out there should be pissed as hell. Any Democrat that still backs Filner is a huge fool.
