San Diego County Officials Facing Challengers In Election

CORRECTION: Your article states, "Two Supervisors, the District Attorney, the Sheriff, the Assessor and the Treasurer are all running for reelection." This is not correct. The current San Diego County Sheriff, Bill Gore, and the current San Diego County Assessor, David Butler, have never been elected by a vote of the people. When Sheriff Bill Kolender and Assessor Greg Smith left office mid-term, the Board of Supervisors "appointed" Gore and Butler to their respective positions.

Gore and Butler cannot be "reelected" as neither of them have ever been "elected". It will be up to San Diego County voters on June 8, 2010 to select their choice for these important elected offices.
