How Will School District Cut $141 Million Deficit?
The baseline salary of teachers that is being cited does not include their benefits such as health insurance and pensions. What is the burdened salary range of teachers in the district? What percentage of the District's budget goes to pay for employee and retiree benefits? In times, when few people working in the private sector have pensions and when they are paying greater and greater portions of their own health care insurance, these issues need to be considered.
