I agree with the proponents that the living wage in San Diego needs to be raised. And it really shouldn't matter the type of job a person has chosen for their profession- As long as the person is working an honest job then he or she should be compensated fairly.
I disagree with the last female caller that suggested a person would not be motivated to move up the ladder if they were working in an unskilled job. The reality is not everyone is going to have the opportunity to go to college, therefore they might stay in an unskilled job, working just as hard as a professional. So why shouldn't they be compensated fairly?
Further more, these individuals are trying to pay rent in one of the highest rent districts in our country. It's unfair and unrealistic for opponents to believe that a person can survive making less than $13.00 hr.
