Review: 'Bully'

Things have really changed from the "old days". Regarding bullying, it's amazing to see that society has taken the initiative to change the mentality and acceptance of it. I think it still happens, likely will, but at least class mates and other kids will say something to a teacher or adult about it. Glad to see the movie out and the more messages the better.

Americans Do Not Walk The Walk, And That's A Growing Problem

Big issue, no pun intended. I get walking and healthy, but if you walk slow you can't tell me it's going to battle the bulge. Fast pace walking? Yes, now we're talking. Walking needs to be done at a pace that increases the heart rate does it not for it to really benefit health? Any doctors around here?

Fall TV: Good News, Bad News

I know we're going back a bit on this. But sheesh where is the Fear Factor love? Ah I get it. Actually did they stop running that show. I haven't seen those nut bar ads lately. Right now Celebrity Apprentice seems pretty entertaining. Go Clay!

Last Minute Thanksgiving Turkey Tips

I've cooked a few turkeys in my day (I'm a chef afterall). With that said, what you need to consider is making EXTRA stuffing. The ratio of meat to stuffing at the end of the day is usually not great. Let's talk leftovers. If you make the sandwiches, put the stuffing in there. I know on many occasions I've gotten the tupperware container with all meat and a tablespoon of stuffing. Quite sad! So that's my tip. Make more stuffing than you think you will need. Good luck everyone!

Digital Textbooks Measures Move Forward at Capitol

The reality is the whole second hand text book scam will end soon enough. Let's be honest students get enough debt and digital books will save them some money. I just don't see the paper textbooks lasting for much longer. I guess long live Kindle. Digital makes a lot more sense. Packing around text books? How old school!

Lorax Sculpture Stolen From Seuss Widow's Home

Seriously pathetic. The clowns with this thing sitting in their living room don't have a conscience. People will steal anything these days. The movie was okay, but it wasn't THAT good!

Black Friday Isn't The Only Game In Town

In Canada we have boxing day sales. That turned into boxing week sales. Know why? Yep, more money for retailers. We've avoided black friday for the most part here, but I see that changing with more US retailers like Target coming in 2012. Canada will enjoy or not enjoy black friday madness soon enough I'm afraid. Frankly I've used cheap websites like http://www.cheaptablets.ca/ to get deals. I don't think shopping when things sell out instantly because of deals makes sense. I'm sick of limited quantity boxing day items like tablets or laptops which sell out in 10 minutes. I do think shopping online during the year you can find all the black friday like deals. Businesses need customers year round!
