Local Brewers Discuss Latest Trends In Craft Beer

I just wanted to comment that on Oct 24th you can sample several local breweries, including Ballast Point, and support a local cause by coming to "Barktobertest," supporting the Southern California German Shepherd Rescue. Details are at http://www.socalrescue.org/. Come and bring your dog and enjoy a beer or two!

Share The Road, It's Bike To Work Day

I want to reinforce Zach and Carmela's comment to implore my fellow cyclists to obey the rules of the road, especially at intersections. Furthermore, while accidents caused by motorists retaliating against cyclists are rare, road rage instigated by inconsiderate cyclists is avoidable and can prevent injuries to innocent cyclists as well.

Groucho, from University Heights you can either go Texas-->Camino del Rio Norte-->Fashion Valley-->Friars--> either Morena or the Mission Bay path. You can also take Washington through Hillcrest and Mission Hills and take the hill down by Presidio Park to either Morena or Mission Bay. Use either of these routes to get to Santa Fe (along the railroad, behind the IN-N-OUT at the 5 and Balboa), which will lead to the bike path that ends at the bottom of the Gilman hill that gets you to UCSD.

Hope to see you out there tomorrow, be safe and aware everyone!

Experts Discuss Challenges to Water Recycling Locally

Much of the problem with getting the public on board is just perpetuation of misinformation. I remember seeing an interview on the local news where the interviewee made a comment in the video clip along the lines of "if the filters can let a water molecule go through, then of course it will be able to let through a bacteria." First of all, the difference between the two is about 1000 times, with the bacteria being the bigger of the two; secondly, the news station was perpetuating this misinformation by showing this comment but not ever issuing a clarification of what are the true facts! Any person who didn't know the correct details and saw this news segment would think this interviewee knew what he was talking about!
