This report is pleasant but there is no beef in the article. Bad pun, but where is the information about what happened to the rate, was it due to changes in methodology, was it due to childhood activities, was it due to removal of soda from the school? In other words this is a worthless report because none of the important parts are included. This is a feel good report without any usable information. Why could the reporter not have at LEAST reported the studies information, which by the way showed SD county obesity rate dropping 1.33% from 35.83%. There is nothing in the study showing any confidence levels nor standard deviations thus nothing to show if this was a P value of significance. More work needs to be done by reporters before simply mouthing "news".
