I do hope that being put into the spotlight like this will somehow get through to the Sweetwater trustees that the public has not appreciated the truly horrendous treatment received. Blocking public input, ignoring public opinion, openly sneering at sincere efforts of the public to solve problems and obtain reasonable information...their arrogance has been astounding.
The students in Sweetwater and the other districts involved need to learn what being a good public servant is--thus far they have seen precious little of that by way of example.
And this does not even cover what they have done with public funds...because all that is a big mystery. The County Board of Education does not keep the books for Sweetwater, although they do handle a majority of the county school districts' books. The B of E is nominally in charge, but has not called Sweetwater on any of their bookkeeping irregularities. We would like a forensic accounting report going back many years--as long as Sweetwater has been handling their own accounts.
