What a wonderful and inspiring story. I have proudly been fundraising and involved in the Race for the Cure and The 3-Day Walk for many years. They are both amazing events. What started as a small grassroots organization has gone global and has influenced breast cancer awareness, scientific research and breast health education since 1982.
I would like to point out that the name of the organization is Susan G. Komen for the Cure, not Susan B. Komen for the Cure. Nancy G. Brinker founded the organization in honor of her sister Susan Goodman Komen, who died of breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 36.
I really do appreciate that you gave air time to an important story highlighting women’s breast health and how outreach can save lives.
