San Diego Sued Over 'Foul Odor' of Sea Lion And Bird Poop at La Jolla Cove

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. "Why not sue the seals?" Some people just hate nature. Maybe they should just bring in more sharks to take care of it. It would really suck to have to appreciate your natural coastal setting. Get a life La Jollans, you can't buy everything

Report Shows Pollution Increased At Calif. Beaches In 2010

Its disturbing that over half of the pollutants for every year listed are "unknown" or "other". Seems like they need more categories or more descriptive classification. I agree with Peter, the technical aspect of this report goes beyond the capabilities of the media to inform the general public well enough to hold the EPA to task.

Oceanside Man Sparks Debate Over Airport Security Procedures

Pistole should be fired. I'm shocked that they were able to implement this change at all. The term 'security theater' really summarizes what I see the American attempt at security to be. I've had TSA agents looks at my camera like it came off an alien spaceship. If I had any faith in TSA's ability to stop anything, I wouldn't be as concerned about these drastic measures. As it is now however, the TSA is a demonstration of how terrorism has won by terrorizing a freedom loving people into irrational, ineffective and expensive measures.

Instead of spending gross ammounts of cash per scanner (100 million I have heard?), why wouldn't the government hire some returning troops that actually have real experience in hard core secruity situations at a living wage to conduct Israeli caliber secrity checks. And what ever happened to dogs? You couldn't go 100 yards in a European airport 20 years ago without seeing dogs and paramilitary guards. Dogs are an intimidating presence that are proven effective for detecting any type of explosive or contraband. I would rather have a former Marine with a German Sheppard drill me about my business than see high school drops outs molest women and children.

If you think these current measures are making you safer, you have done a good job of kidding yourself. Ben Franklin said "Those that would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." A different time sure, but a fundamental American ideal that we should hold dear.

The other thing I want to know is, who do we blame when people begin developing cancer from exposure to backscatter radiation from these devices? I can't wait to see the fallout from that.

I'm travelling on the 24th & I am opting out. Get real America.
