In the pursuit of equality of the sexes, we sacrificed two important ingredients that maintained a delicate, yet healthy balance: Gallantry and Coquetry. I don't mean the demonstrative or swooning kind, but a contemporary one. Men hardly feel the responsibility of providing a broad shoulder any more as do women not feel the need to behave like they want to be pursued. So, we go about being "equal", yearning for the increasing absence of attentive men that make a woman feel cared for, and for women who make a man feel like truly pursuing them. It is time to take a fresh look at new ingredients for healthy relationships between the genders in this post-emancipation world.
