I'm amazed that Bob Kittle doesn't check his facts before going on the air, despite his background in Journalism! There is no "paperwork to fill out" to avoid paying the higher sales tax in National City if you are not a resident. When buying any vehicle, one must present identification. That establishes your residency.. You pay the sales tax based on where you live. Misinformation like this harms car dealers in National City and the citizens who benefit from the existing tax from outside buyers, who make up over 90% of car buyers in National City. Come on down Bob, I'll see to it you get a good deal at the lower tax rate. Weldon Donaldson, Executive Director, Mile of Cars.
