ANNOUNCER: KPBS celebrates Cultural Diversity in partnership with Union Bank. We're honoring Local Heroes for Hispanic Heritage Month. Let's meet Carolina Ramos, Latino Services Coordinator for the San Diego LGBT Community Center. CAROLINA RAMOS: I have been working here at the Center for five years, I've been an activist in the LGBT community for over twenty years. I also do work in the Latino community. It kind of embraces all of who I am as a woman of color, a Latina woman who also happens to be a mother, a lesbian. I have the honor of working with families and seeing families grow and to see them evolve into love and acceptance is just so rewarding. I get to see the transition from 'I don't want you in my house', to 'bring your partner over, let's have dinner.' ANNOUNCER: Find out more at kpbs.org/heroes.
