Nicole Murray Ramirez LGBT Pride Month Local Hero Hello, I'm Pierre Habis of Union Bank. Diversity is one of our most closely held values. This is why we're proud to honor local heroes in celebration of LGBT Pride Month. I'm Nicole Murray Ramirez. I've been a Latino and Gay activist for over 45 years. I think I've been blessed to see the changes in both communities. The struggle for gay equality is definitely the civil rights movement of the 21st century. We are the last Americans not to have full equality and full rights. Harvey Milk was a visionary. He believed that America would embrace equality of all its citizens but he also believed that we had to work for it. I hope we'll be able to tell these stories and to share the struggles that we have so that people will understand, including my community, that they stand on the shoulders of many who aren't here to tell the story. This moment has been made possible by Union Bank in partnership with KPBS.
