Video Transcript:
Hello, I’m Pierre Habis of Union Bank. Diversity is one of our most closely held values. This is why we are proud to honor Local Heroes in celebration of Women's History Month. Let’s meet one of our honorees. KATHI ANDERSON: I'm Kathi Anderson, and I serve as the Executive Director of Survivors of Torture International. Survivors of Torture International is a healing resource for survivors in our community. The state of California has thousands of survivors of torture already here. These are amazingly resilient people who are productive in their home countries, but because of their torture experiences they're not really living to their fullest capacity. I see when they walk through the doors, that they are a shell of who they were. I continue to be committed to this work because I see the difference we make in people's lives. I love being a part of a community of healing and hope. ANNOUNCER: This moment has been made possible by Union Bank in partnership with KPBS.
