Tom Hom Asisan Pacific American Heritage Month Hello, I'm Pierre Habis of Union Bank. Diversity is one of our most closely held values. This is why we're proud to honor local heroes in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. I'm Tom Hom and I was born right here on this site, and this is what you call Chinatown. I was about 12, delivering produced with my Dad, City Hall was just catty-corner and he says Tom, in America the kind of laws that come out of there is dependent upon the kind of people they put in there. I served in the City Council, I was Deputy Mayor, and I became a State Assemblyman so I became involved in creating the historical district and saved these old buildings. When you receive always remember to give back. (Chinese phrase) That's Chinese, the few words I still remember, you always remember to be a gentleman. This moment has been made possible by Union Bank in partnership with KPBS.
