The San Diego Playwrights Collective presents A staged reading of a new play THE PERFECT DAISY by Carmen Beaubeaux. A romantic comedy about the end of the world.

This is a fast-paced comedy that swerves dangerously toward the end of days. With the Armageddon Index a half point from blast-off, Christian fundamentalists have genetically engineered a sacrificial red-heifer, Daisy, and smuggled her from Texas to Jerusalem to be fattened for an ancient ritual sacrifice that will trigger the apocalypse. The timing couldn't be worse for Dr. Meir Har El, director and chief psychiatrist of Kfar Alon Hospital, an underfunded mental asylum in the Old City. Edsel Rutherford, a famous televangelist, resides there in secrecy with a protracted case of Jerusalem Syndrome... he thinks he's Jesus. The crises mount until Edsel, Daisy, a mysterious cooler, an unusually quiet Arab with PTS, an insurance fraud investigation, security breaches, a kidnapping … all converge in the shadow of the most contested chunk of real estate on the planet.
