OMA Presents Art After Dark: Cruisin' Culture

Start your engines and get revved up to enjoy OMA’s Art After Dark on June 22, 2012 from 7-10 p.m. Sparked by the eye-catching vehicles and artwork in "Cruisin’ Califas: The Art of Lowriding," guests will revel in an evening celebrating the art and lifestyle of the Southern California custom car culture.

The Red Fox Tails will heat up the night combining elements of Jazz and Surf Rock & Roll while Fred Astaire Dance Studio features their burlesque dancers to burn up the floor.

Dress to impress for a Pin-Up photo-shoot by Scott Saw’s Vixen Photography and don’t miss a fashion show by Fashionate Boutique and The Proper Fit.

Experience live artists David Lozeau and Celestine and enjoy complimentary elixirs from Magners Cider, craft beer from Latitude 33 with help from Tap That, and specialty wines, light appetizers by Harney Sushi and BCDC Restaurant and desserts from Fashionate Boutique.

About Art After Dark:
OMA currently holds four Art After Dark events a year, each inspired by a different theme that often relates to the museum’s exhibitions. Recent events have grown exponentially, with attendance reaching over 700 patrons.

Art After Dark is a program designed to attract an array of audiences interested in broadening their understanding and appreciation of art. This entertaining “art party” provides members and new visitors with a sensational evening intended to support the museum’s dynamic exhibitions and events.

Creatively charged with live music, performance, interactive stations, stunning thematic art, and delectable food and beverages, guests enjoy an artistic sensory overload. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to view three art exhibitions during the Art After Dark event on Friday, June 22, 2012: "Contemporary Art Wins a Beachhead: The La Jolla School of Arts, 1960-1964," "Cruisin’ Califas: The Art of Lowriding," and "Lee Silton: Evolution."
