10th Annual Taka Sumi-e Art Show & Sale

The art show and sale, held in Room 101 at the Casa del Prado, highlights Japanese art, culture, and traditions. Show hours are 11 am to 4 pm both days. Admission is free. Students and associates of San Diego Community College instructor Takashi Ijichi will exhibit original artworks in both sumi (ink) and Asian watercolors.  

The show includes displays of traditional Japanese flower arrangements, a tea ceremony, and performances by Japanese dancers and musicians. Highlights will include demonstrations of brush painting by Takashi Ijichi and his advanced students, a fashion show of wearable art, and a sales area with Asian-inspired crafts and gifts. And be sure to visit the serene Japanese Friendship Garden before or after the show.
