Artists @ Work: Wes Bruce Installation
May 10, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Guided towards complexity, subtlety, and innovation, Wes Bruce will create an installation based on his exploration of the poetic connections between human beings and buildings and the evidence thereof through the use of objects, images, ink and vocabulary words at the May 10th Artists@Work program.

Become intrigued by Bruces’s use of symbols and text in this encompassing creation that will engage the audience with the OMA Lobby in an exciting new way.

Artists@Work is a creative happy hour where guests can engage with a different diverse artist each month, and get a first-hand look at the creative process while enjoying complimentary appetizers by Harney Sushi and Bull Taco and an open bar with wine and beer from Lagunitas.

Tickets are $15 for OMA members or $20 for nonmembers. Visit or call (760) 435-3721 for reservations, or purchase tickets at the door the night of the event. OMA invites guests 21+ to attend.

About Artists@Work:
Oceanside Museum of Art is pleased to present its newest innovative night event, Artists@Work. On the second Thursday of most months OMA will showcase a different artist or artist collaborative by commissioning them to produce an original artwork live in front of guests during the newly-extended hours of 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Each month OMA will showcase a different artist with the aim of exploring all mediums of creation including: ceramics, painting, sculpture and more. During selected months Artists @ Work will showcase artists whose work is currently on view at the museum, giving guests an in-depth look some of OMA’s 2012 exhibitions. All OMA exhibitions will be open for viewing during these extended hours.

Artists @ Work will take place on the following dates: May 10, June 14, August 9, and September 13, 2012.

This program is made possible by the James Irvine Foundation. Opened in 1995, Oceanside Museum of Art educates and inspires through a unique range of diverse engaging exhibitions and programs that connect people with regional, national and global artists and art forms.

The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday 1 to 4 pm. Admission is $8, $5 for seniors and free for students and military. For more information call 760.435.3720 or visit
