Anishka and Maria, a voice and piano duo present: 'Night Music!', an afternoon of live opera performances. Featuring Anishka Lee-Skorepa, Soprano, Maria Didur, Piano, and singers from the acclaimed San Diego Opera Chorus.

Anishka and Maria will continue their recital series at the Sunset Temple, featuring works by Poulenc, 20th century American composers, and more of the "Songs and Dances of Death" by Mussorgsky. The afternoon will be a learning experience with the performers introducing the pieces with translations of the lyrics and historical context.

In light of all the uncertainty surrounding the San Diego Opera, they would also like to take this opportunity to showcase some of the talent found right here in the San Diego/Tijuana area. The second half of the show will feature arias sung by various SDO Chorus members.

It will be an afternoon filled with great music and much talent! Be sure to mark you calendar. This is a concert you won't want to miss!

About us:
A voice and piano duo, out to perform arias and art songs in ways that break down the barriers frequently associated with "classical music" and to stretch the boundaries of the voice and piano recital.

Anishka Lee-Skorepa is a dramatic soprano born and raised in San Diego. She attented San Francisco State University and the University of Arizona for Bachelors and Masters in Music. She currently sings with the San Diego Opera Chorus and has had small parts on stage at the Civic Theatre.

Russian pianist, Maria Didur was trained on the East Coast, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music and a Master's Degree in Music Education from Hunter College. Ms. Didur has a successful teaching studio in San Diego and currently accompanies graduate level conducting studio and SDSU Choirs, as well as vocal and instrumental studios at SDSU and USD. She is equally passionate about collaborative work and has worked with top level choirs in the San Diego area, most notably Bach Collegium, San Diego Children's Choir, Musica Vitale and Sacra/Profana.

As classical musicians, this powerful duo is always looking for venues and ways to get their music out to the arts community and to push the boundaries of "classical music". They perform art song and arias, in a variety of languages, from early music to contemporary pieces, always with the goal of exposing their audiences to music they may have not heard before and getting them excited about the genre along the way.
