Monthly Open Shakespeare Reading: 'The Merchant Of Venice'

Though sharing certain aspects with Shakespeare's other romantic comedies, "The Merchant of Venice" is most remembered for its dramatic scenes, and is best known for Shylock and the famous "Hath not a Jew eyes?" speech.

Notable for its themes of social justice and encounters between cultures. Cherie Peacock of San Diego Shakespeare Society leads our merry journey through the landscape of Shakespeare.

Presented in conjunction with the 2014 One Book One San Diego reading campaign.
