'Food Stories Of India'

Culinary Historians of San Diego will present "Food Stories of India," featuring Prem Souri Kishore, at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 21st, in the Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library.

Prem Kishore is an author, lecturer, audio professional and travel writer who was raised in India. Her presentation will cover the food traditions and rituals she recalls from the kitchens of her mother and grandmother. She will take her audience through the diverse landscapes of her native land as she describes the spices, origins of ingredients and explores the deep connection between food and people.

Kishore's books include India: A Culinary Journey, a Gourmand Award nominee; and History and Culture of India. In India, she taught English Literature at the university level; and was a BBC-trained radio producer, editor and presenter in Dubai.

The event is free and open to the public.
