Welcome to the world of contrabass presented by celebrated bassist, educator, recording artist and author, Bert Turetzky.

This musical journey demonstrates the versatility, gregariousness and flexibility of the contrabass. The noble but often misunderstood contrabass may be the the most versatile bowed string instrument in western culture. From its early functions in the orchestra and chamber music to its place in jazz and modern music, the contrabass has made its mark on the world of music.

Bert will be joined by violinist Alyze Dreiling, cellist Lorie Kirkell, violist Francesca Savage and flutist Nancy Turetzky to help showcase the bass through seven centuries of music.
