Culinary Historians of San Diego will present "What Is An Aphrodisiac Food; and what should we do with it?," featuring Amy Reiley, at 10:30 a.m., Oct. 15 in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library. Reiley will cover the folklore and science behind some of the most notorious aphrodisiacs, and detail the debunking of some popular myths.
Amy Reiley is recognized as a leading authority on aphrodisiac foods. Creator of EatSomethingSexy.com, she earned her Masters degree in Gastronomy from Cordon Bleu, focusing her dissertation on the relationship between food and sex in American pop culture. Reiley has appeared as an aphrodisiacs expert on on television and radio programs from The Today Show to "Wait, Wait . . . Don't Tell Me!" She has also been a guest on various food-related specials, including two on Playboy TV, where she was the one wearing clothing. She is the author of four books on aphrodisiacs, including "Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook," and "Romancing the Stove."
