The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble will be taking it to South Bay. The group will perform it's Spring Concert on March 26 at the First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista at 4 p.m. This will be the band's second year taking part in the popular music series sponsored by the church.

The afternoon will include Gershwin's "An American In Paris," Bernstein's "Candide Suite," and Copland's "Hoe Down" from "Rodeo." A highlight will be the performance of organist Russ Peck joining the band on the newly restored and enlarged pipe organ on Alfred Reed's "Alleluia Laudamus Te."

The concert is free, however a freewill offering is suggested.

The 45 piece Hillcrest Wind Ensemble is in its 31st year of performing and is a program of the LGBT Center acting as a musical ambassador to the community as a whole.
