Join us for a rockin’ afternoon featuring Little Richard’s drummer, Charles Connor.

Backed by a full band and vocalist Kate Flannery, this program takes the audience through a guided tour of the dawn of Rock 'n Roll.

When Little Richard formed his hard-charging backing band the Upsetters in 1953, he hired 18-year-old Charles Connor as his drummer.

A New Orleans native hardwired with the rhythms and tradition of second line drumming, Connor brought a distinctive beat to the burgeoning music scene of the 1950s and helped define the sound of Rock 'n Roll.

During the show Charles shares his legendary stories – from being scouted by Little Richard to sharing a room with Buddy Holly!
