GI Film Festival San Diego Presents ‘Black Panther’ Family Movie Night

GI Film Festival San Diego presents the 2018 Marvel Studios’ blockbuster film “Black Panther” for its upcoming Family Movie Night on Friday, Aug. 24 aboard the USS Midway Museum.

Guests can begin boarding at 6:30 p.m., and the film starts at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Pre-show activities will take place in the museum’s hanger bay and will include music, red carpet photo opportunities, resource tables and giveaways from military-connected organizations, and more. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Be a Back-to-School Hero
The festival will be conducting a back-to-school supply drive for military connected youth and schools. Be a hero to military youth by equipping them for academic success. Each attendee that brings a donated item (valued at $10+) will receive a free popcorn.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life. “Black Panther” stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige. Rated PG-13.
