Do the names Sulochana, Pramila, Miss Rose, and Nadira ring any bells? No? Then it’s time to brush up on Bollywood, because they were some of the biggest stars within the first 100 years of Indian filmmaking… and they were Jewish—who knew?!

"Shalom Bollywood" tells the individual stories of some of the industry’s pioneering Jewish women who performed because Hindu or Muslim women were forbidden to appear on screen.

The film also tells the larger story of Indian-Jewish culture, specifically the Bene Israelis, who have lived in India for 2,000 years, and were some of Bollywood’s first megastars.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
